"Catering to casuals"

The only people who say this and really believe its true are people who have no idea what it is like to be casual.

The price of 150 badges for one thing, one single item, puts it right in the place it needs to be. Someone who isn't casual simply wouldn't understand how long it would take to get that one item, forsaking everything else you could possibly buy with badges.

It's similar to pvp rewards. Anyone who was truly casual would see the possibility of acquiring some nice gear, but also recognize the huge task they have ahead of them.

And you'll notice I didn't say insurmountable task. Apparently, this is what "hardcore" players want some things in the game to be....for others.

How long can it take you with above average effort to be 150 Badges? 10 days in Heroics at 15 Badges a day if your dedicated to doing so. That's a Heroic run of Botanica (5), Mech (4), UB (4), SP (3). If you do 12 Badges a day thats just a few days longer.

That's my point. A casual player isn't necessarily going to do an heroic a day.

Let alone every day.

For 10 days in a row.

I scanned a few guild sites with a casual bent and some of them try to do one heroic per WEEK in addition to *maybe* a full Karazhan clear.

So being ambitious with that guild in mind let's say they get 30 badges a week. That's over a month for one item.

Let's throw in one extra heroic for the week for them. That will save them a week and take them a month.

Still 3 times more than you make it appear.

But both of us can make up number and effort to make it look easier or harder.

The age (of forum) old question is what do either you or I consider casual effort?
